I mean this is hardly a fair interpretation of Mr. White. He is likely assuming Adam and Eve are individuals because the New Testament treats them as such (for the conservative). He is also likely drawing his statement that marriage was designed in Genesis to be for a man and woman from Matthew 19:4-5 where Jesus quotes Genesis.
