Re: CRT — A Quick Response
Hey man! I appreciate you taking the time to respond to my article. We can only improve each other by talking to one another. However, I feel like you didn't quite understand what was being said.
1. CRT does not teach "everyone and in this case children to identify people primarily by the color of their skin". As stated in the article, CRT proponents do not believe that race is the only way to understand people. In fact, it agrees with you: race is only external. Unfortunately, we live in a fallen world where people judge each other according to their race, so CRT seeks to understand how people have done that. It has nothing to do with evaluating people's moral character, but understanding how the systems we have built treat people based on their exterior.
2. I agree that God is against lying. Perhaps you are unaware, but there are many laws based on institutionalized racism. Consider the following Wikipedia article: www.wikipedia.org/wiki/Institutional_racism#United_States. If you don't live in the USA, then I'm sure you can find details for where you are from.
Secondly, CRT argues that racism is a normal experience for minority groups in the USA, not "racists are everywhere". Consider this article from the New York Times to further understand this: www.nytimes.com/interactive/2020/us/racism-african-americans-quiz.html.
Finally, I would like to say once again that you're completely right to say that we ought to judge people based on moral character and not skin colour. CRT says the exact same thing. CRT does not judge people based on skin colour, it asks whether our legal system judges people by their skin colour.
In love and truth,
Joshua Issa
